A shooting, leaving several people injured, has been reported Wednesday afternoon at Fort Hood, the large military post in Killeen, Texas.

The shooter is still on the loose, KCEN-TV reported, and it’s unclear how many people have been shot.

At least one person is being taken to the hospital while authorities respond to the scene.

Nidal Malik Hasan in November 2009. He killed 13 people and injured more than 30 in the attack.

The gunman is believed to be in the Medical Brigade Building, KCEN reported.

Fort Hood officials confirmed an incident occured around 4:30 p.m. at the military installation today, WFAA-TV reported.

The base is on lockdown as authorities investigate. A video posted online by someone living on Fort Hood captured the sound of a public address system ordering people on base to shelter immediately, close doors and stay away from windows.

The nearby Central Texas College in Killeen is evacuating all students and staff after the reported active shooter. Classes on the campus for the afternoon and evening have been cancelled.

Maj. Nidal Hasan was given the death penalty last year for murdering 13 people and wounding more than 30 more on the Texas army base on Nov. 5, 2009.

The shooting comes one day after the U.S. Marine Corps confirmed an FBI search is underway for a former Army recruit, identified as Muhammed Abdullah Hassan or “Booker”, who was plotting a “Fort Hood-inspired jihad against U.S. soldiers.”
