In Brooklyn, business is booming.
“Trade Brooklyn,” the borough’s premier business trade expo, is set to return bigger than ever this week.
Organizers of the annual convention have moved the day-long show to a new location at the New York Marriott in Downtown Brooklyn, with larger spaces for attendees and exhibitors.
“The vendor base is growing,” said Jonathan Levin of Cardinal Trade Group, which has produced the show seven times.
The Wednesday event will feature an array of 150 exhibitors all either based in — or looking to expand to — Brooklyn.
Organizers expect the show to draw more than 2,500 business professionals and entrepreneurs.
“The whole goal is to connect people face-to-face in one day and try to activate business interaction,” said Levin, who added that the only way for it to grow was to move it from its former location at the Brooklyn Navy Yard to the Marriott.
During the expo, businesses hailing from within the marketing, accounting, banking and tech industries industries will showcase new products and services.
“When you leave my show people have a ton of business leads to follow up with,” said Levin.
“It’s a way to jumpstart and kick start business.”
The show will also feature 15 business seminars, each led by experts who will dish tips and strategies for growth.
The growing “Trade Brooklyn” expo reflects a larger trend in business trade shows coming to the borough, said Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce President Carlo Scissura.
“More trade shows are coming to Brooklyn because we have the brand that the world wants to be associated with,” he added. “Between established venues like the Marriott and brand new spaces like the Duggal Greenhouse at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, it’s a trend that will only continue.”
“Trade Brooklyn” at the New York Marriott, 333 Adams St. in Downtown Brooklyn, on Apr. 2, 7:30 am-3 pm. Admission is free with advance registration. For details visit www.tradebklyn.com.
