Ernest Wallace is charged with being an accessory after the fact of murder in the killing of Odin Lloyd.
FALL RIVER, Mass. – A Superior Court judge ordered Thursday that Ernest Wallace, the alleged accomplice of former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez in the murder of Odin Lloyd, be held on the $ 500,000 cash bail that was set after Wallace’s arrest in June.
Wallace, 41, was arraigned last week on the charge of accessory after the fact of murder in the June 17 killing of Odin Lloyd, a 27-year-old landscaper. Wallace has been held on $ 500,000 bail since June, and his attorney, David Meier, requested $ 10,000 cash bail during Thursday’s bail hearing at the Fall River Justice Center.

Justice E. Susan Garsh cited Wallace’s lack of residence in Massachusetts, past use of aliases and the seriousness of the case in keeping the bail at $ 500,000. Wallace, known to friends as “Hobo” lived, at times, in the basement of Hernandez’s home in North Attleborough, Mass. as well as a house in Bristol, Conn., the hometown of Hernandez.
Wallace has pleaded not guilty to the accomplice charge. If convicted, he could face up to seven years in prison. He has been held at the Plymouth County House of Correction.

Hernandez pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the case, and Carlos Ortiz, who was with Hernandez and Wallace in the early morning hours of the murder, has been charged with gun possession, but has not been indicted. According to court documents, Ortiz has cooperated with police.
