Worker sues after he’s fired for peeing outside

This guy really pissed off his boss!

A Brooklyn dock worker was fired for urinating al fresco, he claims in a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Brooklyn federal court.

The man, whose identity was not revealed, was hired last year as a timekeeper by Ceres Atlantic Terminals, which operated on Pier 12 in Red Hook.

He was required to be on site on some days when Ceres offices — and most importantly, its bathroom — were closed.

And for the man, who claims he has diabetes — which means he has a frequent need to urinate and must relieve himself immediately — this presented a real hardship, he claims in court papers.

“On several occasions…he was required to urinate outdoors, because he could not reach the bathroom in time to avoid having an accident,” court papers state.

Michael O’Neill, the man’s lawyer, said his client was ridiculed by his co-workers. “They’re longshoremen. What do you think, they quoted Shakespeare?” he said. “He was humiliated.”

Ceres fired the man, “because he admitted to urinating outdoors in the area of the Brooklyn pier,” according to the lawsuit. The company did not return a call for comment.

The lawsuit, which claims discrimination based on the man’s disability, seeks unspecified damages.
