American Museum of Natural History, now in the business of handing out Ph.D.s, has trained seven biologists to do more than design great dioramas.
THESE NEW Ph.D.s are making history in more ways than one.
On Monday, seven biology buffs will become the first students in the country to receive doctorates from a museum rather than from a college or university.
The brainiacs hail from the doctoral program at the American Museum of Natural History on the upper West Side — where they’ll celebrate their achievement Monday.
In addition, 20 future science teachers trained at the museum will receive master’s degrees.
The master’s program is part of a pilot initiative intended to help address the shortage of qualified science teachers in high-needs public schools across the state.
