Power outage forces coaster riders to exit on tracks

A power failure at Six Flags Great Adventure forced some riders to exit the coasters and walk along the tracks to safety on Sunday, police and witnesses said.

The park in Jackson, NJ, lost power in the early afternoon, though the cause was not immediately clear, Jackson police said.

“When we got off the Green Lantern line people were walking on the track to get off,” tweeted park-goer Jillian Maggio.

The park released a statement that said all of the guests were safely unloaded from the rides during the outage.

Jersey Central Power and Light was working to restore the power, the statement said.
