Police leave the New York apartment where Aissante Diallo was smothered to death while playing with other children inside a pullout couch.
A Harlem man arrested after a 3-year-old girl in his care was smothered to death in a pullout couch made $ 5,000 bail after his arraignment Tuesday.
Mohamed Barry, 50, was booked on four counts of endangering the welfare of a child after New York authorities said he left his girlfriend’s kids alone on Sunday.

When he returned, Aissante Diallo was stuffed in the couch and likely asphyxiated. Her 10-year-old sister wiggled free.
Barry flagged down cops when he realized the child was trapped but it was too late. He faces up to a year in jail.
