Police investigate the shooting of a 51-year-old man who was killed in the vestibule of his Bronx home.
A 51-year-old man was shot in the head and killed in the vestibule of his Bronx home, police said Sunday.
The victim was about to walk into the building on Buchanan Pl. in Fordham Heights around 9:35 p.m. Saturday when he was shot in the head, police said.
Emergency workers rushed to the home and found the victim on the floor unconscious and unresponsive, police said.
The victim — whose name was not released by police — was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital but died a short time later, cops said.

“I looked out the window and I saw him walk up the block. Two seconds later, that’s when you heard, ‘Pop, Pop,’” said the victim’s neighbor Elizabeth Rosato, 30.
“I knew what it was, but I was just hoping, ‘Please no.’”
Another neighbor had to choke back tears remembering his fallen friend.
“We were just sitting on the stoop Friday night, having a beer. He was playing his music on his iPhone, and I said, ‘Alright, I’ll see you tomorrow.’ I never saw him again,” said the neighbor who declined to give his name.
Investigators were still searching for a motive in the slaying.
