Staten Island NYPD Harbor and NYPD ESU Truck 5 members saved the life of a man who jumped from the lower level of the Verrazano Bridge in New York City on Sunday.
A 29-year-old man survived a jump from the Verrazano Bridge in New York City on Sunday, police said.
The jumper was rushed to Staten Island University Hospital North in critical condition — but alive, police said.

He had driven from the Brooklyn side of the bridge around 12:30 p.m. and ditched his car midway over the span, authorities said.
He then climbed over the railing and leaped off the bridge, cops said.
Members of the NYPD’s harbor unit found him unconscious and unresponsive when they pulled him from the water, but managed to resuscitate him, police said.
