NYPD: Manhattan Mugger Attacked Victim With Brick


The hunt is on for the man police say hit another man in the head with a brick in an attempted robbery on a Manhattan street.


Police have released a surveillance photo of the suspected attacker.


They say on Saturday night, a man walked up to Andrew Billington, 37, on West 58th Street between Tenth and Eleventh avenues and hit him in the head.


Billington and his girlfriend had just left the nightclub Terminal 5 on West 56th Street.


Police say the suspect then rifled through Billington’s pockets, but didn’t take anything.


Billington remains in the hospital.


According to the Daily News, he is an internationally known figure in the long-distance running community and is currently training for the New York City Marathon.


Police say his attacker is 20 to 25 years old, six feet tall and has a mustache.
