Reisner rode in horse shows and trained riders at a horse farm in Mattituck, friends told CBS News.
“He’s very involved,” Hamptons Classic executive director Shanette Barth Cohen told 1010 WINS. “He was very well-liked and it’s a real shock and sad for the whole Long Island equestrian community.”
Reisner’s business partner, Bobby Ginsberg, added: “He loved to teach and loved to ride. He’s a very likeable person. It’s just unbelievable to me that anyone would harm him.”
Investigators are asking anyone with information on this shooting to come forward.
Calls can be made to the Suffolk County Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
