Obama-mania is over.

The commander in chief’s foreign policy approval rating continues to fall as the war-weary American public questions whether another foreign entanglement will do any good.

Only 28% of Americans approve of the way President Obama is handling Syria, according to a joint Wall Street Journal/NBC News survey.

“As the public hears more information, they are coming down on the side of ‘Don’t do it,’” one of the pollsters, Bill McInturff, said.

The poll also shows that a whopping 57% disapprove of how Obama is dealing with the war-ravaged nation, and 15 % are not sure.

Only 33% of the public – fatigued from Afghanistan and Iraq – thinks Congress should approve Obama’s request for a military strike against Syria, while 58 % do not, the survey shows.

The majority of poll participants, 74 %, think that the U.S. should allocate its resources toward solving domestic problems instead of attempting to promote democracy and freedom abroad.

CNN-ORC published a similar poll Monday with comparable statistics.

“This may be a troubling sign for a president who in past polls had always scored his highest ratings for his handling of foreign affairs,” said CNN polling director Keating Holland.
