State kids’ steady performance on the high-stakes SATs mirrored a national trend, which also saw flat scores for 2013 compared to last year.

Statewide, average scores for New York SAT takers in 2013 were 485 in reading, 501 in math and 477 in writing, for an average total score of 1,463. Scores in all categories were exactly the same in 2012.
