An Upper West Side mom’s abortion wouldn’t affect her parenting skills, a top family therapist told the Daily News.

[/DNLEDETEXT]Lawyers for Manuel Mehos contended the abortion his ex-wife had six months after their divorce might harm their two young kids because it’s a “traumatic” thing.

Lisa Mehos, 38, was “presumably somewhat traumatized by this, it affects the children, and that’s really the point,” Eleanor Alter told Justice Lori Sattler at a Sept. 16 hearing.

Therapist Michelle Ascher Dunn called that contention nonsense.

“What happens in your own body is a quiet, silent thing. You can make a private decision and it can have nothing to do with your children,” said Dunn, who is not involved in the case.

The judge allowed Alter, Manuel Mehos’ attorney, to use the evidence against Lisa and question her about the procedure. A top divorce lawyer, who asked not be identified because she sometimes has cases before the judge, called the ruling “very strange.”

Lisa Mehos, a former HR exec, said she felt like she was being “stoned” by having the information used against her while she’s fighting for custody of her kids.

“My children knew nothing about this. My children were not at all affected by this,” she said.

The custody trial is scheduled to resume Thursday morning. The couple divorced in 2011 after six years of marriage.
