Apple unveils new iPhone 5C and 5S with fingerprint Touch ID

Apple unveiled a new stripped-down iPhone as part of a larger announcement Tuesday at its California headquarters.


The iPhone 5C — which will come in five bright colors — is meant to appeal to consumers who don’t want to shell out hundreds of dollars for the sought-after device.

The 16GB version will cost $ 99 with a two-year contract, while the 32GB version will sell for $ 199 with a two-year contract.

The 5C will come in white, yellow, bright green, sky blue and a darker pink — with the phone’s wallpaper matching the color of the case.


The current iPhones are sold in an aluminum casing.


The 5C will have an 8-megapixel camera and a mono speaker.
