A Bronx cop has been reported missing after he allegedly swindled cash from fellow officers to support his gambling debts — money that that was supposed to be used for an upcoming group trip to a Giants game in Seattle.
He was last spotted at Empire City Casino in Yonkers, sources said.
Officer Elisha Duncan, a 16-year NYPD veteran, last contacted his father on Wednesday and said he was having financial woes, cops said.
His father explained Duncan, 46, collected a little over $ 40,000 from about 60 fellow officers for the group trip.
“I don’t think he was brave enough to go and approach them. He felt some of them were already so angry at him, that he was afraid in approaching them,” Elisha Duncan Sr., 92, told The Post.
“They [fellow officers] were calling on his phone a lot and some of them were very upset. He told me that,” he added.
The elder Duncan said their call lasted just a few minutes and he hasn’t heard from him since.
“Yesterday was a deadline for him to return the money to them and he did not have it. I believe that’s what caused the problem right now,” his father said.
“He was depressed,” he added.
“If he is found, they should be very lenient with him and try to help him in every way they can to get counseling, so he won’t be so distressed about the situation. He needs some help,” his father explained.
Officer Duncan drives a black, 2014 Nissan Maxima with New York State license plate DKD1144.
He works at the 46th Precinct, which patrols the University Heights section of The Bronx, according to his father.
