Traffic agent struck by hit-and-run driver


An NYPD traffic agent was struck by a hit-run driver in Gramercy on Tuesday morning, cops said.


The agent was directing traffic on East 23rd Street and First Avenue around 9:15 a.m. when the driver hit her and fled, according to police.


Emergency responders rushed the injured agent to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition, authorities said.


Cops arrested the fleeing driver on East 25th Street and First Avenue.


Charges were pending.
