The World Trade Center’s uplifting salute to vets

Wave it wide and high!

Naval Sea Cadets unfurled a giant American flag at the 9/11 memorial plaza during a Sunday ceremony honoring military families in advance of Veterans Day on Tuesday.

The observance with Old Glory was part of a five-day tribute to US forces to be held at Ground Zero, where a special wreath-laying event is scheduled for Monday morning.

That will be followed by the tying of yellow ribbons around the “Survivor Tree,” which was removed from the rubble following the destruction of the Twin Towers, nursed back to health and re-planted in 2010.

The Big Apple will also host the nation’s largest Veterans Day event, when more than 600,000 gather for “America’s Parade” up Fifth Avenue on Tuesday. The annual procession kicks off following a 10 a.m. ceremony at the “Eternal Light Flagstaff” inside Madison Square Park.
